- Junior Sergeant Maxim Fesenko was killed on May 15, 2022, in the area of the village of Malynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. The soldier received a fatal wound during a tank shelling. He was 34 years old. Maxim was born in the village of Fedunka in the Poltava region. He graduated from the Sahaydachna Secondary School. Later, he obtained vocational education in three specialties. He served his compulsory military service in the internal troops. He then acquired another professional education. He had extensive work experience and underwent several qualifications upgrades. His last place of work was the company "ASTRA," where he held the position of storekeeper. He loved and was interested in history and was passionate about numismatics. However, he derived the most pleasure from working on his land, taking care of the plants in his garden. He wanted to plant a lavender field. In 2015-2016, as part of the 28th Mechanized Brigade, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. With the onset of the full-scale invasion, he went to defend the country as part of the 5th Battalion Tactical Group of the 81st Separate Air Assault Brigade. He served as a gunner. "Maxim was a man of his word, someone who would always come to help. Everything he had in his life, he achieved through his hard work. He had countless plans and dreams for his life, which this terrible war took away. The greatest value for him was his family, which has forever lost a loving father and husband. There are not enough words here to describe what kind of person Maxim was! Those who knew him personally can certainly say that war takes the best," said the wife of the fallen, Olga. The serviceman was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the Zaturynskyi Cemetery near Poltava. The hero is survived by a little daughter, a stepson, a beloved wife, a mother, and sisters. Junior Sergeant Maxim Fesenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
