- Maxim Yuriyovych Yelfimov was born on January 21, 1996, in the city of Putyvl, Sumy region. In 2014, he graduated from the Putyvl College of the Sumy National Agrarian University. During his military service, Staff Sergeant Maxim Yelfimov proved himself to be dedicated to the Ukrainian people, military duty, and the defense of Ukraine's state border. His knowledge of regulatory documents and high personal level of professional training enabled him to perform his duties with dignity. In service, he had the ability to identify key issues, demonstrated reasonable initiative, and a creative and unconventional approach, taking into account available experience. He consistently ensured the functioning and readiness of communication means, adhered to the rules of operation and the methodology for carrying out scheduled work on communication equipment. He provided constructive suggestions to the leadership regarding solutions to urgent problematic issues. On February 24, 2022, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country into the territory of independent Ukraine, Maxim Yelfimov, as part of the combined detachment of the 5th Border Detachment, was dispatched to defend the city of Chernihiv, in the area of responsibility of the 105th Border Detachment. The unit he served in constantly faced aviation, mortar, and artillery shelling. The personnel bravely repelled attacks and held the occupied positions. Soldiers repeatedly participated in battles, repelling enemy advances and armed assaults. Demonstrating heroism, resilience of spirit, and loyalty to the military oath, Maxim Yuriyovych was always on the front lines of defense. On March 14, 2022, while carrying out defense tasks in the city of Chernihiv, Maxim Yelfimov came under a missile and artillery strike from the enemy and sustained injuries incompatible with life. For his personal merits in guarding the state border of Ukraine and exemplary fulfillment of military duty, Staff Sergeant Maxim Yuriyovych Yelfimov was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the 3rd class.Memory Book of the MIA System
