Biography
Zapichnyi Maksym Yuriiovych (call sign "Sherlock") was born on October 5, 1984, in Poltava, Ukraine, to a military serviceman and an elementary school teacher. In preschool, he lived in Germany, where his father was stationed, and later the family moved to Sievierodonetsk, Donetsk region. From 1998 to 2002, he studied at Poltava Secondary School No. 28. In 2008, he graduated from Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratiuk, obtaining a degree in civil engineering. In 2008, he worked at the "Camping" company in Kyiv, later at the Poltava Turbomechanical Plant, and in 2011 at PJSC "Poltavaoblenergo". From 2014, he worked at the "TermaStil" company. In June 2014, he signed a contract for military service. He served for 10 months, three of which were spent at the front as a sapper with the 91st Separate Mechanized Brigade. On December 30, 2014, Maksym Zapichnyi volunteered to defend the Donetsk Airport, where he spent 17 days. During the rotation, he was wounded. After his recovery, he continued to perform combat missions in Avdiivka, Marinka, and other cities in Donbas. In 2015, during the breakthrough to Marinka, Maksym Zapichnyi saved many of his comrades-in-arms. He remained at the front until the end of August 2015 and then returned to his engineering work. However, due to Russia's full-scale invasion, he returned to the front. He was killed on September 30, 2022, after falling into a mine trap near the village of Ternova, Kharkiv region.Burial place
