The following month, on August 15, the defender would have turned 51 years old. Marichel was from the city of Herza in the Chernivtsi region. He graduated from school there. Then he entered the Chernivtsi Railway College. He got married and lived with his family in Chernivtsi. In peacetime, he worked as an electrician. He loved to do sports, hunting, and fishing. Since 2015, he has been serving under contract in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In 2017-2018, he participated in the ATO. With the start of the full-scale war, in March 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his country and family. Initially, he was in military unit A7106. He fought in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Later, he underwent training in Poland. After returning, he was transferred to the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He took the position of senior shooter and went to defend the Zaporizhzhia direction. While in the zones of active combat operations, he never complained that it was difficult for him, but, on the contrary, tried to support everyone, convincing that everything would be fine. "My father fulfilled his duty as a citizen of Ukraine to defend his state with honor and dignity. Until his last breath, he remained faithful to his comrades-in-arms, his people, and his homeland. The best man, father, and grandfather. We are proud of him," said Lyudmyla Bukharieva. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery in Chernivtsi.
