- Starshyna Serhant Maria Vlasyuk was killed on May 24, 2022, during combat operations in the Luhansk region. The girl held the position of a paramedic in the evacuation department of the medical company of the 80th separate air assault brigade. Maria was born in the Rivne region. She graduated from the Rivne Basic State Medical College, and after that, she worked as a nurse at the central city hospital in Rivne. But at the end of autumn 2016, she left her job and decided to devote herself to military service. In 2017, she signed a contract with the 80th brigade. To improve her qualifications, the girl underwent military courses in Lithuania in August 2019 and became a combat medic of the platoon. She taught tactical medicine and served in the Donetsk region. For seven months without rest, she and the ambulance driver picked up, provided first aid, and transported the wounded to hospitals. At the time of the full-scale Russian invasion, Sergeant Maria Vlasyuk was part of the 80th brigade. She went through the Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions with the fighters. The girl's last rotation was already in the Luhansk region, where she saved hundreds of her comrades. In April 2022, Maria was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. The girl told her friends that in the near future she wanted to enter the university and obtain the specialty of a traumatologist. She wanted to practice medicine, save people, loved French bulldogs, and made plans. On the day of her death, Maria Vlasyuk was on her way to evacuate wounded comrades. The Russians shelled the road with artillery. The defender from shrapnel wounds. The girl was buried as a bride in her native village, as she did not have time to start her own family.
