Mark Ya. Zdorovtsov (Molot)

29-year-old Senior Sergeant Mark Zdorovtsov died on June 1, 2022, at a Kharkiv hospital from severe injuries received during a combat mission in Donbas. Doctors fought for his life for a month, but the defender's heart stopped. Mark was from Chernivtsi. He graduated from Chernivtsi School No. 28. He served in the Chernivtsi Regional Military Commissariat and was discharged in 2020. With the start of the full-scale war, he went to the front line, where he bravely defended Ukraine. Mark joined the 8th separate mountain assault battalion of the 10th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. "After severe injuries, almost a month of prayers, hopes for Kharkiv doctors, faith that a young and strong body would prevail... All those who knew Mark, who taught him, who stu and worked with him, who fought in the East, in the current war, - all will remember him as intelligent, smiling, brave, optimistic, honest, reliable... His mother lost her only son, the school - a worthy graduate, Ukraine - a patriot and Hero...", Chernivtsi School No. 28 wrote on their page. "He was a wonderful, honest, noble man, a brave and courageous warrior," the veterans' association noted. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory of the Central Cemetery in his hometown of Chernivtsi. Mark left behind his mother.
