- 40-year-old Sergeant Marina Izyumova (call sign Morska) was killed on May 8, 2022 on the territory of the "Azovstal" plant in Mariupol. A Russian air bomb hit the bunker. Marina was born in the city of Donetsk. She graduated from the Donetsk Technical College of Technology and Design. Then she studied at the Faculty of Economics of Donetsk State University. In 2014, she was forced to move from her hometown due to the Russian occupation. In civilian life, she worked as a manager in a construction company. She loved to engage in landscape and interior design. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the woman served in the separate special forces unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". She held the position of a clerk. But after February 24, she actively helped the city's defenders and the "Azovstal" plant. "Marina was an honest, decent person. She always tried to help people. She was always in a good mood, with a smile on her face. She had a lot of friends. She loved her children very much," her mother Tetyana Petrivna said. Her body was cremated. Marina is survived by her mother, son Pavlo, and daughter Maria. She was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
