- Sergeant Mykhaylo Sak (call sign Doc) died on August 29, 2022, during a counteroffensive in the Kherson region. Between the villages of Novovoznesenske and Myroliubivka, together with a comrade, he was evacuating another comrade, but an enemy tank shell ended the lives of both. Two days before this, Doc turned 44 years old. Mykhaylo was born in the village of Silce, Zakarpattia region. He lived in the village of Lypcha. He graduated from the Khust Medical School and obtained the qualification of paramedic. He worked in several local hospitals, as a paramedic in the mountain search and rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and also at Ukrposhta. In 2003-2004, he served as a peacekeeper in Iraq under a contract. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in the ranks of the 80th Airborne Brigade, and in 2017 - in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. During the full-scale war, the man served in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Zakarpattia Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a combat medic in the company. Throughout his service, Mykhaylo had many awards and decorations: "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", "Participant of the ATO", "Defender of the Fatherland". "The best man and father, son and brother, a faithful friend and comrade. He always easily found a common language with people, knew how to support both in words and in deeds. Always positive," his wife Svitlana described the deceased. The combat medic was buried in his native village. Mykhaylo left behind his parents, wife, and daughter. Posthumously, Mykhaylo Sak was awarded the Orders of the Cross of the Hero and For Courage, 3rd degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
