Mykhailo D. Fitkalenko

Soldier Mykhailo Fitkalenko was killed on October 15, 2023 near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. When the warrior was delivering water and food to the position, his vehicle was hit by an enemy anti-tank missile. The car exploded and caught fire. Due to constant artillery shelling, the defender's body could not be evacuated. On October 2, he turned 49 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Teplik, Vinnytsia region. He obtained a secondary education. Before the invasion, he worked at a factory producing spare parts for agricultural machinery "VRT-ELAN". In his free time, he was engaged in beekeeping and loved fishing very much. During the full-scale war, the man served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a serviceman of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Ensign Marko Bezruchko. He held the position of a cook in the logistics platoon. During his service, he was awarded the decoration of the President of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine". "My father was a kind and courageous person, and he passed all this on to me. We were always one with him. We have the same character, the same views on life. We are a team. I saw how his comrades-in-arms mention my father in their posts, and tears welled up in my eyes. He is a Hero!" - said the deceased's daughter Oksana. At home, Mykhailo was awaited by his wife, daughter and son.
