Mykhailo D. Kulyniak (Kalyna)

52-year-old Senior Sergeant Mykhailo Kulynyak (call sign Kalyna) died on October 22, 2023 in a hospital in Lviv. On September 13, while on a combat mission in the Bakhmut district, he sustained severe mine and shrapnel wounds. Doctors in four hospitals fought for his life, but the warrior's heart could not withstand. Mykhailo was from the city of Romny in Sumy region. He graduated from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences with a degree in "Zoo Engineering". He worked as a dosimetrist at the Central Enterprise for Radioactive Waste Management in Chornobyl. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders and went to the front. He served in the 119th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a combat medic. "My husband was a worthy son of his father - writer Danylo Kulynyak, a loving father to our children, and a courageous warrior of his Motherland," said Yanina Kulynyak. The defender was buried in the village of Dymer in the Kyiv region. Mykhailo is survived by his wife Yanina, sons Danylo and Mykhailo, daughter Stefaniia, and daughter Maria from his first marriage.
