Mykhailo F. Koval

Soldier Mykhailo Koval was killed on March 10, 2023 near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. In a battle with the occupiers during an enemy missile attack, the fighter shielded his comrades, but received fatal wounds himself. The defender was forever 40 years old. Mykhailo was born and lived in the village of Mezhybrody, Lviv region. He obtained a higher engineering education at the Lviv Polytechnic National University. He also completed the military department at the Lviv National Academy of Land Forces. He worked as a builder in the companies "Parus" and "Romb". He loved fishing and the forest. During the full-scale war, the man defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of mechanic-radio operator of the radio station of the engineering and technical company. "My father was especially devoted to the military oath and the Ukrainian people. He desperately defended his native land. He was always eager to fight against the enemies. He heroically was killed in battle for the Motherland, covering his comrades," said Vladyslav Koval. The defender was buried in his native village. Mykhailo is survived by his mother Nadiia, father Fedir, wife Halyna, sons Vadym and Vladyslav.
