Mykhailo I. Liakh

Soldier Mykhailo Liakh was killed on March 31, 2023 near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal shrapnel wounds. The defender was 40 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Verkhnie Vysotske, Lviv region. He finished school there. In 2011, he served in the regular military service. Later, he settled with his family in the village of Krasne in the Lviv region. In civilian life, he worked abroad in construction. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Cornet Marko Bezruchko. He was a senior rifleman. On March 6, 2023, he was awarded the medal "For the Defense of the Native State". "Our brave defender went to defend our state on March 8, 2022. Having received a concussion and wounds on August 8, 2022, after the hospital he was at home with his children for 2 days and returned again to the front line to his comrades-in-arms. He always said: 'Who, if not me?'. Always in a positive mood, always smiling and always cheerful. Our dearest beloved husband and the best dad," the wife of the fallen soldier said. Mykhailo was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents Oksana and Ivan, his wife Hanna, daughter Adriana-Viktoriia, and son Matvii.
