Mykhailo I. Lysak

Born on November 20, 1987, in the city of Hnivan, Terniv District, Vinnytsia Oblast. Ukrainian. In 2003, completed 9 grades at Hnivan Alternative Secondary School No. 1 named after A.S. Makarenko for the development of children's abilities in the city of Hnivan, then attended Vocational Technical School No. 12 named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union R.Ya. Malinovsky in Hnivan (now Hnivan Professional Lyceum named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union R.Ya. Malinovsky). On June 25, 2014, he was called up for military service under contract by the Vinnytsia-Terniv Combined District Military Commissariat of Vinnytsia Oblast to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a shooter in the 1st section of the 3rd platoon of the guard company of the 137th Combined Center for Material and Technical Support of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2287, city of Vinnytsia). He was assigned to the 2nd self-propelled howitzer artillery division of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Operational Command "West" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0998 (field post V4680), city of Yavoriv, Lviv Oblast). He participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On April 28, 2017, around 20:30, Junior Sergeant Lysak tragically died while on military service in the area of the platoon stronghold 2402 near the village of Novozvanivka in the Popasna District of Luhansk Oblast. According to official data, the serviceman committed suicide. On May 2, 2017, he was buried in the city cemetery on Hulevych Street in Hnivan, Terniv District, Vinnytsia Oblast.
