Mykhailo I. Maksiian

Maksiiyan Mykhaylo Ivanovych was born on March 7, 1979 in Moldova. In childhood, he moved with his family to Crimea, where he spent his school years. During his military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he ended up in the city of Vasylkiv, Kyiv region, where he remained to serve and obtain higher education. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine. Since 2018, he has been living with his family in the city of Fastiv, raising a son and an adopted daughter. He worked at the Kyiv City Palace of Veterans. On February 23, 2022, a day before the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was mobilized. He served as part of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He graduated from the Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and during a short vacation, he came to collect his diploma. He was killed in action on January 23, 2023 near the village of Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia region. He was buried on February 2, 2023 in Fastiv. He is survived by his wife and two children.
