Mykhailo I. Zaremba

Zaremba Mykhailo Ihorovych was born on November 19, 1987, in the village of Zhulychi, Zolochiv district, Lviv region. In 2010, he graduated from the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force. Since then, he served as part of the 10th Naval Aviation Brigade. At the beginning of the Russian aggression, he did not betray his oath and in March 2014 left the temporarily occupied Crimea for mainland Ukraine and joined the fight against the invaders in the ATO zone. Participant of the UN peacekeeping mission in Congo. He held the position of commander of the helicopter squadron of the 10th Naval Aviation Brigade. He was killed on May 7, 2022, while carrying out an extremely complex task to liberate Snake Island. The Mi-14 helicopter was shot down by a Russian missile. He was buried on May 12, 2022, in his native village. He is survived by his wife and two children.
