- Soldier Mykhailo Bilyk (call sign Mishanya) was killed in a hospital in Dnipro on April 27, 2023. Five days prior, while defending the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region from the occupants, he sustained a severe head injury. The defender was 35 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Stanylia, Lviv region. He graduated from Drohobych Higher Vocational School No. 19, obtaining the qualification of a car mechanic. He worked as a taxi driver. He was passionate about cars and loved to sing. During the full-scale war, the man defended his native country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a soldier of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He held the position of a mechanized infantry squad commander. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Donetsk region, in particular, he fought for Bakhmut. "Mykhailo was a good son to his parents, fair, sincere, had many friends, came to the aid of others, was cheerful, always smiling and jovial, loved to joke and sing. Responsible. He achieved his goals, never afraid of difficulties. He had many plans for life..." said his cousin Olha Kropyvnytska. The soldier was buried in his native village. Mykhailo is survived by his parents, sister, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
