Mykhailo M. Vasylechko (Hovorun, Mykhasyk)

25-year-old senior soldier Mykhailo Vasylechko (call sign Hovorun, Myhasyk) was killed on December 4, 2022 near the village of Yakovlivka in Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during a rocket and artillery attack by the occupiers. Mykhailo was born in the village of Nyzhnii Strutin in Ivano-Frankivsk region. He stuwas killed at the Tlumach boarding school. He practiced boxing and collected knives. In 2016, he graduated from the Voinyliv Vocational Lyceum and immediately signed a contract to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation as part of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade and the 24th Separate Assault Battalion "Aidar". He signed his last contract in April 2021. In August of the same year, he met his future wife, and in May 2022 the couple got married. At the time of the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykhailo was serving in the 109th Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". He held the position of a rifleman-medic. For his service, the soldier was awarded the distinctions "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", "For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine", "For Combat Valor", and "War Veteran". Posthumously, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. "My angel, I am infinitely grateful that you were in my life. You taught me to live, but you didn't teach me how to live without you. I miss you so much... I'm writing and crying. Remembering gratitude and feeling the essence of all the angels who are always with us, guiding us with their lives. When I walk the world without inspiration, you gently wrap me in your wings, tickling with a barely audible wind, coming to my dreams like a rainbow - a ray peeking through the window, playfully chasing away the darkness. Like a morning tender kiss, you wake up a new spring in my heart," wrote the deceased's wife Olena. The warrior was buried in the village of Lisnyi in Ivano-Frankivsk region, where he lived with his wife. Mykhailo is survived by his father, sister, and wife.
