- Main Sergeant Mykhailo Uhryniak (call sign "Mytnyk") died on November 23, 2023 near the village of Novobakhmutivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of an attack by an enemy kamikaze drone. The warrior was 56 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Kuti, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Lviv University of Trade and Economics and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Since 1996, he has worked in the customs authorities. He was a state inspector of the customs post "Lviv Postal", had the rank of lieutenant colonel of the customs service. He loved the mountains and skiing, hunting, and mushroom picking. In November 2022, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. In March 2023, he became a fighter of the "Legio V" unit of the 14th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Aerial Complexes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of chief sergeant of the unmanned aerial vehicle platoon of the UAV company of the UAV battalion. He defended Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Donetsk directions. "Mykhailo loved his Motherland very much and hated the enemies. Without hesitation, he left his prestigious job and went to fight. Since he served in the airborne troops and was a skilled hunter, he knew weapons well and was very resilient. He enjoyed the respect of his comrades-in-arms. He was wounded, but after treatment he returned to the front line again. The Washington Post and Austrian television told about him. His credo was: "I will fight to the end - this is my job," said his wife Olena. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. He is survived by his mother, two brothers, wife, daughter, son and three grandchildren. Mykhailo Uhryniak was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
