Mykhailo R. Pyhliuk

Mykhailo Romanyovych Pihliuk was born on June 17, 1981, in the village of Potelych in Lviv Oblast. He lived in the city of Lviv. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 25, 2022, he voluntarily went to the military enlistment office for mobilization into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. Mykhailo Pihliuk was killed on March 21, 2022, near the city of Popasna in the Luhansk region. Initially, he was buried as an unknown defender of Ukraine. For nearly three months, the search for Mykhailo Pihliuk's body continued. On June 17, 2022, after his identity was established and the necessary procedures were completed, he was reburied and laid to rest in his homeland, in the village of Potelych in Lviv Oblast.
