Mykhailo S. Darchych

Darychych Mykhailo Stepanovych was born on November 21, 1972, in the village of Bykhiv, Liubeshiv district, Volyn region. He grew up in a large family with seven other children. His family lost his father at a very young age, and Mykhailo had to become the support and pillar for the entire family. During his school years, he proved himself to be a diligent, responsible, and persistent student, graduating from Bykhiv Secondary School with a silver medal in 1990. From 1990 to 1992, he served in the military in Estonia. Mykhailo had always dreamed of becoming a doctor and persistently pursued this goal. After several attempts, he was finally admitted to the Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy in 1994, where he studied during the day and worked in the evenings. In 1999, he obtained a higher education degree in Dentistry and became a qualified dentist. After graduating, he worked as a dentist in Lutsk. In 2001, he got married. On the second day of Russia's full-scale invasion, on February 26, 2022, he joined the territorial defense forces of Lutsk, taking the position of a paramedic. Later, he served in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. Mykhailo died on July 31, 2022, during enemy shelling while saving the lives of his comrades in the Soledar area of the Donetsk region. He was buried in the Alley of Honorable Burials in the cemetery of the village of Harazdzha.
