Mykhailo S. Pechunka

Born on October 28, 1977, in the city of Khust, Zakarpattia region. Graduated from the general education school in the city of Khust. Served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during mandatory military service. Worked as a security guard in the city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region. In the winter of 2013-2014, he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, an activist of the Khust Euromaidan. In 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a scout-machine gunner in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region). Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On February 6, 2015, Sergeant Pechunka was killed in battle near the village of Chervonyi Zhovten (now Sotenne) in the Stanytsia Luhanska district of Luhansk region. He was buried on February 14, 2015, in the cemetery of the city of Khust, Zakarpattia region.
