Mykhailo S. Shevchenko

Staff Sergeant Mykhailo Shevchenko was killed on November 15, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in his native Luhansk region. The warrior was 38 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Komyshuvakha, Luhansk region. After school, he graduated from the Popasna Vocational Lyceum of Railway Transport. He lived in Popasna. He worked as a track fitter. After the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, Mykhailo went to defend his native lands in the ranks of the airborne assault troops. He was a driver-medic in the engineer-sapper company. He participated in the defense of Donetsk region. In the summer, he was wounded, but soon returned to his comrades-in-arms. Later, his unit was sent to defend the Luhansk region. There, the man fought his last battle. "Eternal memory to you, Misha. He was a good guy. I'm very sorry. My condolences to his mother and sister. Hold on," wrote his deceased colleague Nelya. "After the victory, Mykhailo planned to rebuild his native land and restore the railway track. He was an honest, caring person, the best and kindest father, son and brother," the Popasna administration said. The defender was buried in Sloviansk, Donetsk region. Mykhailo is survived by his mother, sister and daughter.
