Mykhailo V. Bondarchuk

29-year-old Chief Sergeant Mykhailo Bondarchuk was killed on September 7, 2022, while defending the Kharkiv region from the occupiers. Near the village of Volokhiv Yar, the soldier sustained fatal injuries as a result of an enemy airstrike. Mykhailo was born in the village of Kolomye, Khmelnytskyi region. He graduated from the local school. He then obtained a profession as a conductor at the Kozyatyn Technical School. In 2016, he joined the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 15th Separate Slavic Regiment, which was stationed in Donbas. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. From the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykhailo continued to defend Ukraine. He took part in the defense of Luhansk region. He was awarded for his heroic service. "In these sorrowful days, the entire community deeply mourns and sympathizes with the parents and family of Mykhailo. Please accept our words of gratitude for raising a patriot, a faithful son, and a true defender of Ukraine. May the Lord God help you bear this heavy pain of losing a loved one. The bright memory of the brave defender of Ukraine will forever remain in our hearts," wrote the Krupets Village Council. The defender was buried in his native village in Khmelnytskyi region. Mykhailo is survived by his wife Maria and daughter Dasha.
