Mykhailo V. Horshenin

Defender Mykhailo Horshenin (call sign Horshok) was killed on January 13, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Novodarivka, Zaporizhia region. The warrior was 30 years old. Mykhailo was born in Kharkiv. He lived in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region, for some time. Later, he returned to his hometown. He graduated from the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" and the East Ukrainian National University named after Dahl with specialties in "Computer Technologies". He loved computers, wanted to be a graphic designer, and work with artificial intelligence. He dreamed of introducing a subject into the school curriculum where children could train their minds and thinking. Recently, he worked at "LULU Software" company, holding the position of QA-Engineer. During the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the 127th separate brigade of territorial defense. He held the position of a rifleman - assistant grenade launcher of the rifle company. He received the military specialty of a UAV operator. For his service, Mykhailo Horshenin had a number of awards, including medals "We will Defend Our Home. We will Defend Ukraine. TDF Bde 113", "For the Defense of the Native State", "For Military Service to Ukraine", "For the Sacrifice of Blood in the Battles for the Freedom of Ukraine", and honorary diplomas. "My son is the smartest, most caring, most beautiful and most precious person in the world," said his mother Svitlana. The defender was buried at the Zatuinskyi cemetery in Poltava. Mykhailo is survived by his mother.
