Mykhailo V. Kovalskyi (Dobriak)

Paratrooper Mykhailo Kovalskyi (call sign Dobryak) was killed on August 2, 2023, in the area of the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the soldier received fatal injuries during an enemy artillery barrage. Mykhailo was to turn 34 years old on August 29. He was born in the village of Blahodarivka, Mykolaiv region. He lost his parents at a young age. He studied at the Chervonohrad boarding school in the Lviv region. He then graduated from the Lviv Higher Vocational Technical School and obtained the profession of a car mechanic. He worked at the "Chaika" recreation base in the village of Karolino-Buhaz, Odesa region. From a young age, he loved to go fishing with his brother. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine. He served in the 80th separate air assault brigade. He carried out combat missions in various directions. "He was a person who never left anyone in trouble. He always helped, he was fair. Despite the difficult life circumstances, he remained a human being. He was a patriot of his country and therefore went to defend its freedom. My brother did not know the full joy of life, he was killed at a young age, defending us," said Andrii Kovalskyi. The soldier was buried in the Marsovoye Field of the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Mykhailo is survived by his brother and sisters.
