- Senior Soldier Mykhailo Navrotsky (call sign Misha) was killed while performing a combat mission on April 3, 2022, in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. The defender was 31 years old. Mykhailo was born in Kyiv. He stu at school #119. Then he graduated from a vocational technical school as a master of refrigeration systems. He worked at a car service station as a manager. In 2014, he volunteered to join the Azov regiment. He held the position of senior driver of the machine-gun platoon of the fire support company. He participated in battles for Shyrokyne, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Svitlodarsk Bulge, Vodyane, Pavlopil, and Hranitne. From the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he fought in Mariupol. "My brother was kind, cheerful, the soul of the company. It was very easy to be with him. Therefore, friends were drawn to him. Misha always went out of his way to help if someone asked for it. Everyone who knew him would say that. Even when he came home from work very tired. Sometimes someone would ask him to drive somewhere, and Misha would not refuse. He was passionate about cars. He took good care of his and tuned it. Before the full-scale invasion, he was thinking about his personal life. He had a beloved girlfriend. He planned to get married and have children. He was the first person I wanted to share my joy with or, conversely, complain to. He adored my son, his nephew. He paid a lot of attention to him. And he loved Misha very much," his elder sister, Olya Mykolaienko, shared. "He always helped his parents. In 2014, he said he was going into the army. In fact, he went as a volunteer to Azov. He confessed to us after nine months, when he came back on rotation. He was always positive. When the full-scale invasion began, he transported weapons and wounded in an armored vehicle. The last time Misha talked to me, he said he was very tired, that they had nothing to eat and water was running out. And then there was no contact with him for 10 days. We were informed of his death by the patronage service on April 7, 2022, on the Annunciation. Three years ago, we buried our father. His brothers-in-arms told us how he . That day, his guys got into an ambush on the left bank, the commander said it was 'hell' there. Misha insisted on going to get them. When he was returning with his guys, a Russian tank was driving towards them. Misha did not have time to turn right, and the armored vehicle was hit directly. Misha and several other soldiers were killed," his sister said. The family waited almost a year for the DNA results. Mykhailo was buried in the village of Vyshivka, Borispil district, Kyiv region. The soldier left behind his mother, elder sister, 13-year-old nephew, and a brother from his father's side. Mykhailo was awarded the "Defender of Mariupol" medal, the President of Ukraine's "For Participation in the ATO" award, the Azov regiment's "Shyrokyne Operation" award, and the Order of Courage III degree (posthumously).Memory Platform 'Memorial'
