Mykhailo V. Nykolaichuk

Junior Lieutenant Mykhailo Mykolаychuk (call sign Frenchman) died on January 21, 2024, during an enemy artillery attack near the village of Veselie in the Donetsk region. The officer was 37 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Lisky, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University with a degree in Radiophysics and Electronics. However, he worked in various jobs, and before the full-scale invasion, he was a long-distance driver abroad. In his free time, he loved to spend time with his family. He was passionate about repairing various equipment. On February 23, 2022, the man returned from abroad, and on February 25, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". He was the commander of a machine gun platoon in the rifle company of the rifle battalion. He fought in the Kharkiv and Donetsk directions. During his lifetime, he was awarded the Order of the Knight of Combat Valor. "A beloved and faithful husband, the best and dearest daddy, a loving son. A faithful and courageous citizen of his state," his wife Olesya described the defender. The officer was buried in his native village. At home, his parents, wife, and children were waiting for him. Mykhailo Mykolаychuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree.
