- Lieutenant Mykhailo Slyshlyk was killed on January 11, 2023 near Soledar in the Donetsk region. After completing a combat mission to install anti-personnel mines, the officer and his group were spotted by an enemy drone. The occupiers opened artillery fire, which ended the defender's life. On January 8, he turned 40 years old. Mykhailo was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv National Economic University with a degree in Law. He worked as a lawyer. In 2019, he became an advocate. In his free time, he practiced jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and rifle shooting. He loved mountain tourism and conquered Mount Ararat on his own. He dreamed of crossing the Bosporus. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykhailo defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 77th separate airmobile brigade. He was a platoon commander. On December 14, 2022, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. "We were together for only 4.5 years. He was the most stable, strong, well-educated and intelligent person I have ever met. He had many hobbies, but he managed to find time for everything and everyone. He was always ready to help. He taught those around him to be friends, to love, to care. He set a goal and always achieved it. He had a chance not to go to war, but from the first day he said he had to, that it was wrong to hide, that he had to protect us, and that was the only right decision for a man. There are few such sensitive, kind, decent and brave people, so they are all heroes," said the officer's wife, Olha. Mykhailo was buried at the Lisovyi Cemetery in Kyiv. The warrior left behind his parents, wife and a son who was only 2.5 years old at the time of his death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
