- Senior soldier Mykola Kozak was killed in action on July 17, 2022, near the village of Verkhnekamianske, Donetsk region, during an enemy artillery shelling. The defender received fatal head and chest injuries. He was 52 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Bilyi Rukav in Vinnytsia region. He graduated as a physicist-informatician from Vinnytsia Pedagogical Institute. Later, he graduated from Kyiv Trade and Economic Institute with a degree in "Accounting and Auditing". He worked in various jobs: as a teacher and deputy director at school, as a programmer at a bank branch, as a deputy mayor at the city council, and also as an engineer for labor protection at the Dniester HPP-1. He lived in the city of Novodnistrovsk, Chernivtsi region. In his free time, he loved to travel and fish. During the full-scale war, the man defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 80th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the chief sergeant - commander of the grenade launcher department. "Kolya, my Sunny, was an extraordinary person: a loving husband, father, grandfather, caring, responsible, kind, sincere, gentle, reliable, sensitive, brave, courageous, had a high sense of duty," said the defender's wife Larisa. "Wherever Mykola Andriyovych worked, his intelligence, endurance, sensitivity and professionalism, and also - his friendly smile, remained a good memory for everyone. And most importantly - his filial devotion, which the Motherland felt from the very beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine and from the full-scale invasion in February 2022," wrote the mayor of Novodnistrovsk Natalia Tsymbalyuk. Mykola was buried on the Alley of Heroes in Vinnytsia. The man left behind his mother, wife, two sons, daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
