Mykola B. Humennyi

55-year-old Sergeant Mykola Humennyi (call sign Granddad) was killed on July 15, 2024 near the village of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries during an attack by an enemy kamikaze drone on Ukrainian positions. Mykola was a resident of the village of Smykivtsi in the Ternopil region. He had a secondary education. He worked as a construction worker. He loved to spend his free time with his family. During the full-scale war, the man volunteered to defend his country. He fought in the ranks of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He was the commander of a grenade launcher unit. "Mykola Bohdanovych was very kind, positive, and honest. He always went to help people. Everyone envied his dedication to Ukraine," said his daughter-in-law Mariana. The defender was buried in the village of Smykivtsi. Mykola is survived by his wife, son, two daughters, and other relatives.
