Mykola D. Prokopyshyn (Shkvarok)

Senior soldier Mykola Prokopyshyn (call sign Shkvarok) was killed on January 14, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Spirne in the Donetsk region. The soldier received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. Mykola was born in the settlement of Solotwyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He stuwas killed at the Solotwyn secondary school. He worked as a construction worker in Ukraine and abroad. He loved to travel, go to the forest and mountains. When the full-scale war began, he came from Poland and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 10th separate mountain assault brigade. He held the position of rifleman-assistant grenadier. During his service, he was awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine". "My Mykola was the best husband, a loving and caring father, a decent family man, a good son, a good friend. He was called the 'positive spark'. He was everything, he was my wings, my support and help, my day and night, my morning and evening, my summer and winter... My first and last love... For him I was 'a little kitten'... He was my everything... My universe," said the wife of the fallen Olena. The defender was buried in his native settlement. Mykola is survived by his wife, two children, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
