Mykola I. Panchenko (Wolf)

Territorial defense fighter Mykola Panchenko was killed on September 17, 2022 in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 38 years old. Mykola was born in Lviv. He studied at secondary school No. 23. In 2005, he graduated from Lviv State University of Internal Affairs with a degree in Jurisprudence. In 2014-2015, as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel, he performed combat missions in the ATO zone. After returning from the front, he worked in the mobilization department of the Lviv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. However, in 2020 he returned to service in his native 24th Brigade. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense. He defended Ukraine as part of the 103rd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, later - the 101st Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "I knew Mykola since school No. 23, then we also crossed paths at LSUIS. He was a good guy, specific, fair, had a commanding voice. At school, no one messed with him, they were afraid, but he didn't offend anyone. Probably, each of us has an acquaintance, a friend, a close relative, a son, a father who was killed in this war. We will remember them forever!" - wrote his friend Yuriy Hii. The defender was buried in his native Lviv. Mykola is survived by his mother, wife and three daughters.
