- Mykola Mykolayovych Halytskyi was born on August 27, 1982, in the city of Vorozhba, Bilopillia District, Sumy Oblast. He served in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was at the front line. Senior Sergeant Mykola Halytskyi, as part of the border unit, carried out combat missions to prevent the enemy from breaking through in the direction of Chernihiv (near the village of Ripky). Thanks to the coordinated actions of the border unit together with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, they repeatedly halted the enemy's advance and destroyed enemy equipment. Mykola Halytskyi was killed by a shrapnel wound received on March 3, 2022, during battles for Chernihiv. He was buried in the cemetery in Vorozhba. For his personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and his loyalty to the military oath, Senior Sergeant Mykola Mykolayovych Halytskyi was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
