- 39-year-old paratrooper Mykola Horoshko (call sign Cashier) was killed on March 8, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Bakhmut area of Donetsk region. Mykola was born in the village of Kutkhir, Lviv region, in a large family. He studied at Lviv school No. 94. After the 9th grade, he went to work in construction to help his family. Prior to the invasion, he worked at the "Barkom" company, doing repairs. He loved fishing and cycling. He was passionate about football. During the full-scale war, the man joined the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 77th separate airmobile brigade. He participated in the defense of Donetsk region. "He supported his sister, whose husband went to fight even before the start of the full-scale invasion. Mykola was unfit for service, but felt the duty to go and protect his children and his native land. He had dreamed of being a paratrooper all his life. I asked him not to think about not returning, because the girls need to be married and grandchildren need to be played with together. It doesn't matter that we got divorced. What matters is that he was a good father to the girls and always knew what to suggest to me in life. We miss him very much," said the deceased's ex-wife Oksana. The defender was buried in the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Mykola is survived by his mother Maria, sister Olga, ex-wife Oksana, daughters Sofia and Yulia, brother Vitaliy, nieces Anastasia, Alina and Sofia, and other relatives, close ones and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
