- Sergeant Mykola Khoroshchuk was killed on September 16, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Vasylenkove in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 34 years old. Mykola was born in the city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi in the Volyn region. After school, he graduated from a local agricultural technical college, obtaining a degree as a technician-mechanic. He worked as a mechanic at the Volodymyr bakery. In his free time, he enjoyed repairing cars. He began defending Ukraine at the very start of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation in Donbas. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykola was a technician in the supply platoon of the artillery group of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman. From the first days, he fought on the front lines as part of his unit. "He never complained, was dedicated to his work, always ready to help, and could support anyone in any situation. Kind, cheerful, loving, positive. He just wanted to live and enjoy life, wanted to have children and a family, but he didn't have the time. The bright memory of him will always live in our hearts; we remember him as a kind, bright, loving son and the best brother. Heroes do not die," said the mother of the fallen, Tamara. The defender was buried in the village of Hubyn in Volyn. Mykola is survived by his parents, a sister, and two brothers.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
