- Soldier Mykola Midyanko was killed on August 26, 2022, near the village of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, during an enemy artillery shelling. The defender was 31 years old. Mykola was born in the city of Tyachiv, Zakarpattia region. He received education as an interior and exterior designer at the Uzhhorod Faculty of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. He lived in the village of Tyachivka, worked as a sales manager. From childhood, he loved playing football. He loved dogs, especially Dobermans. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, Mykola joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland from the occupiers. He held the position of senior gunner in the 128th separate mountain-assault Zakarpattia brigade. Sad news shook us all, our Hero's heart stopped beating, Defender Mykola Midyanko. Unfortunately, it is difficult to heal the painful wound of loss with words. After all, the death of a loved one is a great test. In this bitter moment, we share the grief of the family and, together with you, bow our heads in deep sorrow. Eternal memory and glory to the Ukrainian warrior who defended the Motherland and each of us... "My husband was a sincere, life-affirming person. He always came to the rescue, his eyes burned with life and faith that Ukraine would be a single, strong, flourishing country where there would be no war. On February 25, he voluntarily went to defend Ukraine so that each of us would have a peaceful sky and a quiet night. He believed in victory!" - said his wife Veronika. The defender was buried in the village of Tyachivka, Zakarpattia. Mykola left behind his parents, two older brothers, and his wife.
