Mykola M. Patiaka (Pan)

Sergeant Mykola Patyaka (call sign "Mr.") was killed on April 18, 2023, near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The soldier was 42 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Borysivka, Zaporizhia region. He lived in Berdyansk. He graduated from the Azov Regional Institute of Management, obtaining a degree in management and economics. In civilian life, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activities - he grew agricultural crops. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the defense forces. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of senior rifleman. "Positive, purposeful, kind, sociable, always smiling, a person behind whom you felt like behind a stone wall," - this is how his wife Olga described the deceased. Mykola was buried in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Zaporizhia. The defender left behind his parents, sister, wife, and two children.
