- Soldier Mykola Polyulyak was killed in action on May 10, 2022, in the area of the village of Pavlivka in Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries during an enemy mortar shelling. The defender was 37 years old. Mykola Polyulyak was born in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi in the Khmelnytskyi region. He graduated from Chernivtsi National University named after Yuri Fedkovych. He was a physicist by profession. He worked as a workshop manager in his hometown, at a company in Ivano-Frankivsk, and in the IT sector in Khmelnytskyi. However, his greatest passion was snowboarding, so eventually, he became an instructor at a ski resort in Dragobrat. When the full-scale war began, he went to the front without hesitation. Lacking combat experience, he was determined to defend his homeland from Russian occupiers. Thus, he ended up in the 68th Separate Jäger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush and went to defend Donetsk region. "My only brother Mykola has . He was my cousin, but I always denied it because I considered him closer than my own brother. Before the war, he was far from the army, but he was a good snowboarder and went to war as a volunteer. I will never forget you, brother. I believe you are always with us," wrote Oles Navrotsky. The warrior was buried at the Alley of Glory in the Central Cemetery in Kamianets-Podilskyi.
