- Serviceman Mykola Roshchuk (call sign Dog) was killed on April 16, 2023 while performing a combat mission near the village of Kolodyazi, Donetsk region. The defender was forever 42 years old. Mykola was born and lived in the village of Novostav, Volyn region. He studied at the Boratinskyi Lyceum. After finishing school, he entered a vocational school, where he obtained the profession of a builder. He served his conscription in Zaporizhzhia, where he received the rank of junior sergeant. He worked in a carpentry workshop, where he mastered his favorite hobby - woodworking. Mykola built a workshop on his own, where he made various items with his own hands: tables, chairs, benches. After the start of the full-scale war, he volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a rifleman-medic in the ranks of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He took part in the liberation of Snihurivka and Kherson, where he was wounded and concussed. After recovery, he fought in the Donetsk direction. "Dad was always a Hero for me. We all believed that he would return alive... Dad was fair, kind, understanding, a true father. He had a great willpower. Decent, cheerful, serious, kept his word, had golden hands," said Anastasia Roshchuk, the daughter of the fallen. The hero was buried in his native village. Mykola is survived by his parents, wife, children, and three sisters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
