Mykola M. Rukin (Kondyter)

Sergeant Mykola Rukin (call sign Kondyter) was killed on August 2, 2023 near the village of Myrne in the Zaporizhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, the defender sustained multiple fragmentation wounds to the torso and limbs. The injuries were incompatible with life. Mykola was 44 years old. He was born in the settlement of Zapovitne, Zaporizhia region. He studied at a boarding school and then graduated from a vocational school. He loved to cook and adored children. In peacetime, he worked as a pastry chef at LLC "Sakharok". On September 28, 2022, he was drafted into military service. He defended the integrity of Ukraine as part of the 108th separate territorial defense brigade. He fought in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia directions. He was a rifleman - a grenade launcher assistant. "A very sensitive, kind, and reliable person," wrote his wife Natalia Rys. Mykola was buried in Kharkiv, where he lived. The defender left behind a wife and a son.
