- Soldier Mykola Ryzhye (call sign Frenchman) was killed on October 8, 2022, while shielding his wounded comrades from the enemy's offensive, near the village of Davydiv Brid in the Kherson region. The warrior was 33 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Mykhailivka, Mykolaiv region. He graduated from Mykhailivska secondary school. He worked as a track fitter at Odesa-Sortuval'na. He was passionate about birds, engaged in beekeeping, loved football, and supported FC "Dynamo" (Kyiv). He put his whole soul into his family and his children. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man stood in defense of his homeland as part of the Territorial Defense Forces. In the summer, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 17th battalion of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after the Kosh Otaman Kost Hordiienko. Together with his comrades, he defended the Kherson region. "My husband was an incredible person, very responsible, hardworking, and kind. He never left a person in trouble, never passed by the trouble of others, and always hurried to help. A wonderful father and loving husband," said the wife of the fallen Lidiya. Mykola was buried in his native village. At home, his wife, two sons, and a daughter were waiting for him. In honor of the defender, a memorial stele was installed at the school where he studied.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
