- Sniper operator Mykola Zhuravchak (call sign Liutyi) died on June 27, 2024, in the Mechnikov Regional Clinical Hospital in Dnipro. A month earlier, the warrior sustained severe injuries near the village of Ternі in the Donetsk region. Doctors fought for his life until the end, but the defender's heart could not withstand. He was 26 years old. Mykola was born in the city of Stebnik, Lviv region. He studied at the Stebnik Lyceum No. 7. He graduated from the Faculty of History of the Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University. Later, he enrolled in the Faculty of Economics at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He completed the Department of Military Training at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy. He had deep knowledge of history and political science, was engaged in historical reconstruction as part of the Stryi club of the NGO LK "Bannerets", was the founder of the literary club "Resistence. Rebellion has a reason", and the organizer of numerous literary evenings. He was part of the troupe of the youth theater "Alter". With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to join the Right Sector, and later defended the state in the ranks of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade. From the first days, he was on the "zero line", not missing a single combat mission. "Mykola (that's how he asked to be called) was an extraordinarily ideological person, kind, sincere, a true fighter. Sometimes it seemed that he came from another era. We were always amazed at how much knowledge he contained. He could talk on any historical topic, operated with dates and terms. A brilliant student-historian, who had a remarkable future as a scientist and who loved Ukraine above all else," said his colleague from the literary club, Kateryna. The defender was buried in the Field of Honorable Burials at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Mykola is survived by his parents and sister.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
