- Sergeant Mykola Hvozdov (call sign Hvozd) was killed on July 27, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. On August 5, the defender would have turned 27 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Ivano-Shychyne, Kharkiv region. He lived in the city of Bohodukhiv. He graduated from the Bohodukhiv Professional Agrarian Lyceum, where he obtained the qualifications of a tractor-machine operator, driver, and agricultural machinery and equipment repair mechanic. He worked in various fields. In his free time, he loved to draw, do sports, and go fishing. At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, on February 27, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. He was the commander of a reconnaissance platoon. He took part in the defense of his native Kharkiv region and later went to the Donetsk region. "He lost his parents at a young age, but he has a big loving family, and most importantly, a loving aunt who raised him from childhood. Mykola was honest, sensitive, loyal, and cheerful. He was a true person," said the deceased's niece, Victoria. The warrior was buried with military honors in his native village. Mykola is survived by his relatives.
