- 23-year-old sailor Mykola Solyarchyk (call sign Swallow) was killed on July 9, 2023 in a battle for the city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. The defender received fatal shrapnel wounds during enemy shelling. Mykola was from the city of Berezivka, Odesa region. He graduated from Berezivka Lyceum No. 2. Later, he decided to dedicate his life to military service. Since 2017, he has participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation. He was passionate about military affairs and aspired to develop in this field. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykola fought for his country in the ranks of the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He was a machine gunner in the assault squad of the assault platoon. "He was a very sunny person. He always rejoiced in his life. He defended his country because he considered it his duty. We miss our brother very much," said the warrior's sister Natalia Solyarchyk. The marine was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his hometown. Mykola is survived by his father, two sisters and a nephew.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
