- 51-year-old Sergeant Major Mykola Yaremchuk died in a hospital in Kharkiv on November 13, 2022. In October, during the performance of a combat mission near the village of Hrekivka in the Luhansk region, he received shrapnel wounds. He underwent 7 operations. For 19 days, the doctors fought for his life, but the heart of the defender could not withstand it. Mykola was born and lived in the village of Tynne, Rivne region. He graduated from the Manevychi Technical School, and obtained the profession of a forester. Then he served in the army. He worked in various fields. His last job was a boiler room at a school. He was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). During the full-scale invasion, in April 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave. He was an artilleryman. "In September 2022, I learned about the death of my father on the Kherson direction. Words cannot convey the pain of the loss, but there was hope that Uncle Kolya was alive and fighting. However, a month later, the news of his injury came. We hoped that he would survive and return home. But on my birthday, November 13, Uncle's heart could not withstand it... I am very proud of him, our whole village is proud of him. He participated in the ATO, awarded medals from the then President Petro Poroshenko. For several months he was an instructor in Desna. He took part in the battles for the liberation of Lyman. His comrades-in-arms say that he was very kind. They often come to his grave from other cities when they have vacations. In my memory, he is always cheerful, smiling and happy. I never heard a bad word from him," said the deceased's niece Natalia Chornenko. The warrior was buried in his native village. The defender left behind a sister, two brothers, nephews, friends and comrades-in-arms. On June 14, 2023, the sister of Mykola was awarded the Honorary Badge of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
