- Sergeant Mykola Bragarnyk was killed in action on March 24, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol in Donetsk. The military serviceman was 28 years old. Mykola was born in Kyiv. He received a higher musical education. For some time, he played in a musical band, then decided to devote his life to music and military service. He was married and had a son. He lived with his family in Mariupol. The man served in the military orchestra of the 12th Operational Brigade named after Dmytro Vyshnevetsky of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was an artist of the highest category. During the full-scale invasion, together with his comrades, he defended Mariupol from the invaders. "My beloved was the most sincere and kind person I knew in my life. He always came to help, even when he was not asked. He was a very good father and loved his son so much that it is impossible to convey. I still can't believe it, it feels like it didn't happen to us. The hardest part is explaining to our little son that his father is now in heaven," Irina Bragarnyk shared. "It hurts so much to know that our Earth has become cold! That your foot will no longer step on it. That your son will not see your heavenly eyes, and I am waiting for you more and more in my dreams. Now you are in heaven, but in my soul, you are with me. We miss you so much with the children! This cursed war took you away from us, and you are no more in that factory! You protect us like an angel from heaven. My heart aches for you. Please, no more pain. Ask God for fate for our son, because you for our country! For Ukraine," the woman dedicated the poem to her beloved. The defender was buried at the Starokrymske cemetery in temporarily occupied Mariupol. Mykola left behind his wife, son, relatives, and friends. Posthumously, Sergeant Mykola Bragarnyk was awarded the Order of Courage III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
