Mykola P. Dzezenko (Bars)

Soldier Mykola Dzezenко (call sign Bars) died on September 22, 2023 in the hospital. On September 19, 2023, he sustained mine-explosive injuries near the village of Zolota Nyva in the Donetsk region. The defender was 54 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Mykhailivka, Zhytomyr region. He lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the European University in the capital. Most of his life he worked in law enforcement, was a senior investigator, and held the rank of lieutenant colonel. In his free time, he played the guitar and loved to go mushroom picking in the forest. At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland. He served in the 26th separate rifle battalion. He held the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant. "My father was a very fair, decisive and courageous man. He always gave the best advice and lived justly," said Yehor Dzezenко. Mykola was buried in the village of Antonivka, Cherkasy region. He left behind a son.
