Mykola P. Korolko (Sova)

Born on May 19, 1988, in the village of Toboly, Kamin-Kashirskyi district, Volyn region. Ukrainian. In 2004, he graduated from the 10th grade of the general education school in the village of Toboly, in 2005 - with honors from the Volyn Lyceum-Internat (Lutsk, Volyn region), and in 2011 - with honors from the Faculty of Law of the National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine (reformed in November 2015 into the University of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine - Irpin, Kyiv region) with a degree in "Legal Support of the State." In 2005-2006, he studied at the Faculty of History of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (now - Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University - Lutsk, Volyn region). During his studies, he actively participated in public and cultural events. He was a legal advisor to the professional committee of students and cadets of the National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine. In 2011-2012, he worked as the head of the sales department for real estate transactions. In the winter of 2013-2014, he was on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv, where he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. He had the pseudonym "Viter." On June 24, 2014, he was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer by the Letichiv-Starosynyavskyi United District Military Commissariat of Khmelnytskyi region. He served as a shooter - assistant grenade launcher of the 2nd section of the guard of the 3rd platoon of the guard of the 1st company of the 24th territorial defense battalion "Aidar" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V0624). Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Sova." On July 21, 2014, soldier Korolko was performing a combat mission to cover the advance of Ukrainian troops in the area of the urban-type settlement of Heorhiivka, Luhansk region, occupying a sniper position. However, his position was spotted and shelled by a tank group of terrorists. Soldier Mykola Korolko and senior lieutenant Pavlo Yashchuk were killed by a tank shell hit. He is buried in the cemetery of the village of Toboly, Kamin-Kashirskyi district, Volyn region.
