- Sergeant Mykola Litvinov was killed on January 2, 2023, during an artillery barrage on positions near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The soldier was 23 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Morozivka, Luhansk region. He studied at the local school. In his free time, he was involved in sports and participated in sports competitions. In 2021, he obtained a degree in physical education and upbringing at the Luhansk National University named after Taras Shevchenko. After graduation, he worked in his specialty at a school. In September 2021, he joined the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykola defended his native lands as part of the 3rd Border Guard Unit named after Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus. He held the position of technician-driver of the 1st border outpost of the Border Guard Service No. 1. On December 11, 2022, Mykola saw his beloved wife for the last time, who was waiting for their firstborn. And in January, he was killed. "The guarantee of our security is the lost lives of the heroes of Ukraine. Among them is our student. Nothing can replace the loss of a son, husband, and father! We express our condolences to Mykola's loved ones and relatives! He was a true patriot, without the slightest doubt, he defended his relatives, us, and our country from the invaders. We have known him since the 1st year as an active and always smiling student! He will forever remain smiling in our memory," the institute where the fallen soldier studied noted. The border guard was buried in Kharkiv. Mykola is survived by his parents and his pregnant wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
