- 41-year-old junior sergeant Mykola Lyzenko was killed on September 7, 2022, in the Kharkiv region. Russian occupiers dropped an aerial bomb on the location of Ukrainian troops, and the defender on the spot. Mykola was born in the city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region. He graduated from secondary school No. 20 and the Sloviansk Vocational Machine Engineering College. Later, he worked at a machine-building factory. In 2018, he decided to join the National Guard of Ukraine. He joined the ranks of the 2nd Special Purpose Battalion "Donbas" and repeatedly carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). After the start of the full-scale war, Mykola held the position of communications squad commander. He participated in battles for his native Donbas. In May 2022, he was awarded the Order of Courage III class. When Ukrainian troops began the de-occupation of the Kharkiv region, Mykola's unit was also there. And, unfortunately for him, this was his last rotation. The defender was buried in his hometown of Sloviansk. At home, Mykola was awaited by his wife, daughter, and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
